Airalo vs Ubigi in one paragraph
Ubigi is cheaper than Airalo for Spain at every length they both sell: $18 against $23.50 for a week, $34 against $43 for 15 days, $44 against $63 for a month, and $12 against $14 for 10 GB. Both give 5 GB a day at full speed on unlimited; Airalo then slows to 1 Mbps, Ubigi to 2 Mbps. Ubigi rides Orange only, with 5G. Airalo rides Yoigo, Vodafone and Orange. Airalo wins two things: it is the only one of the two with a 3-day plan, at $11, and it rides three networks to Ubigi's one. On the big bucket Ubigi wins again, 25 GB at $19 against Airalo's 20 GB at $20. Pick Ubigi for the price on a week, two weeks, a month or any bucket. Pick Airalo for three days or three networks. If the trip is 3 days, two weeks or a month and you want unlimited, neither is the cheapest: Ringo Light sells 3 days at $8.99, 2 weeks at $14.99 and 30 days at $26.99, unlimited data at full speed.
Price: the same trip at each
Priced on 22 October 2026, in US dollars. For 3 days of unlimited, Airalo asks $11; Ubigi sells no 3-day plan. For a week, $23.50 at Airalo and $18 at Ubigi. For 15 days, $43 at Airalo and $34 at Ubigi. For 30 days, $63 at Airalo and $44 at Ubigi. Ubigi wins every unlimited row the two share, by $5.50 on the week, $9 on 15 days and $19 on the month.
Ringo Light sells three trips for Spain: 3 days at $8.99, 2 weeks at $14.99 and 30 days at $26.99. The 3 days costs less than Airalo's $11. The 2 weeks costs less than half of Ubigi's 15 days at $34 or Airalo's at $43, and less than either brand's 7-day plan. The 30 days costs less than Ubigi's $44 and Airalo's $63. Ringo Light sells no 7-day plan; for exactly a week, Ubigi at $18 is the cheapest 7-day plan of the three, and Ringo Light's 2 weeks at $14.99 costs less than that with a week of days left over.
For a fixed amount of data, Airalo and Ubigi both sell it and Ringo Light does not. 10 GB for 30 days is $12 at Ubigi and $14 at Airalo. 20 GB for 30 days is $20 at Airalo; Ubigi sells 25 GB for $19 instead, bigger and cheaper. If 10 GB is all you need for a month, Ubigi at $12 and Airalo at $14 are both cheaper than Ringo Light's $14.99, and we would rather you read that here than at checkout.
What unlimited means at each
Airalo's unlimited for Spain gives 5 GB a day at full speed, then slows to 1 Mbps for the rest of the day. Ubigi's gives the same 5 GB a day at full speed, then slows to 2 Mbps. So the two draw on the allowance, and Ubigi is a little kinder once you pass it: 2 Mbps still carries maps, messages and standard-definition video, 1 Mbps struggles with video. Five gigabytes a day covers most people; an evening of HD streaming when the hotel wifi is down will hit it. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed for the whole 2 weeks or 30 days. Fair use policy, see Terms.
Networks and coverage in Spain
Spain has four networks that the travel eSIMs ride: Movistar, Orange, Vodafone and Yoigo. Airalo rides Yoigo, Vodafone and Orange; its Guay plan names Yoigo and Vodafone. Ubigi rides Orange only, with 5G. Ringo Light rides a local partner network. For Barcelona, Madrid, Seville and the coast, either works. Three networks against one matters most in the mountains and on the islands, where one network can fade while another holds; Airalo is the one of the two that can fall back. Signal fades in the gorges of Mallorca and on the mountain roads whichever brand you carry, so save your route offline before you drive.
Installation, app and support
Airalo can be bought on the web or in its app; the app is where top-ups and support chat live, but it is not required to buy. Ubigi installs from a QR code and needs its app for top-ups; its monthly plans renew until you stop them, so check which plan you have chosen before you pay. Ringo Light needs no app; the eSIM arrives by email in seconds and installs in one scan, nothing renews, and support is by email. Whichever you pick, install it at home before you fly and switch it on for data when you land in Barcelona, Madrid, Malaga or Palma.
The cheaper third option: Ringo Light
Ringo Light is our own data eSIM, sold to fund the full Ringo, one plan that works everywhere with your own number ported onto it. For Spain it sells three trips, all unlimited data at full speed: 3 days at $8.99, 2 weeks at $14.99 and 30 days at $26.99. One payment, nothing renews, no app.
What it does not do: no buckets, no 7-day plan, no phone number, data only. Calls go over apps that use data. If you want 10 GB for a month, Ubigi at $12 or Airalo at $14 is the better buy. If you want 20 GB or more, Ubigi's 25 GB at $19 and Airalo's 20 GB at $20 both cost less than our 30 days at $26.99. For 3 days, two weeks or a month of unlimited, Ringo Light is the cheapest of the three.

We compare the trips people actually book: a week, two weeks and a month of unlimited data, and a 10 GB bucket. We read each brand's fair use and speed rules and quote them as the brands state them. We did not run speed tests, so this page makes no speed claims for any brand.
Ringo Light is our own product. We put it in the table on the same terms as everyone else, and where a rival is the better buy the page says so.
Left out: Holafly, Saily and Nomad. They sell Spain too and are priced on the same day in the full comparison at /blog/best-esim-for-spain. This page answers one question, Airalo or Ubigi, so it keeps to those two and the cheaper third option. Left out: Maya Mobile. It lists only a Global plan for Spain and its own site refused the fetch, so it stays out rather than being guessed.
