Airalo vs Nomad in one paragraph
Airalo and Nomad are close for Spain. They cost the same for 3 days of unlimited, $11, and the same for 10 GB over 30 days, $14. Airalo is cheaper for a week, $23.50 against $25, and for 20 GB, $20 against $21. Airalo also sells unlimited for 15 days at $43 and 30 days at $63; Nomad sells neither. Airalo gives 5 GB a day at full speed on unlimited, Nomad 2 GB. Nomad runs on Movistar and Orange, which gives you Movistar, a network Airalo does not list for Spain. Pick Airalo for the lower price, the longer unlimited plans or the higher daily allowance. Pick Nomad if you want Movistar or already use its app. If you want unlimited for 3 days, two weeks or a month, neither is the cheapest: Ringo Light sells 3 days at $8.99, 2 weeks at $16.99 and 30 days at $26.99, unlimited data at full speed.
Price: the same trip at each
Priced on 22 October 2026, in US dollars. Airalo's unlimited was read on its own site and its buckets from the esimdb listing dated 4 October; Nomad is from the esimdb listing dated 4 October, because nomadesim.com served euro prices. For 3 days of unlimited, both ask $11. For a week, $23.50 at Airalo and $25 at Nomad, so Airalo is $1.50 cheaper. Nomad sells no 15-day or 30-day unlimited; Airalo asks $43 and $63. For 10 GB over 30 days, both ask $14. For 20 GB, $20 at Airalo and $21 at Nomad, a dollar apart.
Ringo Light sells three trips for Spain: 3 days at $8.99, 2 weeks at $16.99 and 30 days at $26.99. For 3 days it is $2.01 under either brand's $11. The 2 weeks at $16.99 costs less than Airalo's week by $6.51 and less than Nomad's by $8.01, with a week of days left over, and it is $26.01 under Airalo's 15 days at $43. The 30 days costs $36.01 less than Airalo's $63; Nomad has no month to compare. Ringo Light sells no 7-day plan, so for exactly a week you buy its 2 weeks at $16.99.
For a fixed amount of data, Airalo and Nomad both sell it and Ringo Light does not. If 10 GB spread over a month is all you need, either brand at $14 is $2.99 cheaper than Ringo Light's $16.99. For 20 GB, Airalo at $20 is $6.99 under our 30 days at $26.99, and Nomad at $21 is $5.99 under. We would rather you read that here than at checkout.
What unlimited means at each
Airalo's unlimited for Spain gives 5 GB a day at full speed, then slows to 1 Mbps until the next day. That is enough for maps, messages, music and a couple of hours of video. Nomad's unlimited gives 2 GB a day at full speed, then slower, which is a tighter allowance: maps and messages are fine, but a few videos and a photo backup can use it up before dinner, and a laptop on the hotspot will use it up sooner. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed for the whole 3 days, 2 weeks or 30 days, with no daily figure. Fair use policy, see Terms.
Networks and coverage in Spain
Spain has four networks: Movistar, Orange, Vodafone and Yoigo. All four cover the cities, the coast and the high-speed rail lines well. Airalo rides Yoigo, Vodafone and Orange. Nomad rides Movistar and Orange. Ringo Light rides a local partner network. For Barcelona, Madrid, Seville, Valencia and the islands, any of the three works. Nomad is the one of the two to pick if you want Movistar; Airalo gives you Vodafone and Yoigo instead.
Installation, app and support
Airalo for Spain can be bought on the web or in its app; its support chat lives in the app and on its site. Nomad is managed in the Nomad app, which is where you install, check and top up. Ringo Light needs no app; the eSIM arrives by email in seconds and installs in one scan, and support is by email. Whichever you pick, install it at home before you fly and switch it on for data when you land at Barajas, El Prat or Palma.
The cheaper third option: Ringo Light
Ringo Light is our own data eSIM, sold to fund the full Ringo, one plan that works everywhere with your own number ported onto it. For Spain it sells three trips, all unlimited data at full speed: 3 days at $8.99, 2 weeks at $16.99 and 30 days at $26.99. One payment, nothing renews, no app.
What it does not do: no buckets, no 7-day plan, no phone number, data only. Calls go over apps that use data. If you want 10 GB to last a whole month, Airalo or Nomad at $14 is $2.99 cheaper than our 2 weeks, and their 20 GB at $20 and $21 costs less than our 30 days at $26.99. For 3 days, two weeks or a month of unlimited, Ringo Light is the cheapest of the three.

Which to pick
- Airalo, if you want the cheaper of the two. $23.50 for a week against $25 at Nomad, 20 GB at $20 against $21, and the only one of the two with unlimited for 15 days at $43 and 30 days at $63.
- Airalo, if you want a bigger daily allowance. 5 GB a day at full speed on unlimited, against 2 GB a day at Nomad.
- Nomad, if you want Movistar. Movistar and Orange, $11 for 3 days, the same as Airalo, and 10 GB at $14, the same as Airalo. You pay a dollar more for 20 GB and $1.50 more for a week.
- ✓Ringo Light, if the trip is 3 days, 2 weeks or a month. Unlimited data at full speed at $8.99, $16.99 or $26.99, cheaper than both at each of those lengths, and cheaper than either brand's week.

We compare the trips people actually book: a week, two weeks and a month of unlimited data, and a 10 GB bucket. We read each brand's fair use and speed rules and quote them as the brands state them. We did not run speed tests, so this page makes no speed claims for any brand.
Ringo Light is our own product. We put it in the table on the same terms as everyone else, and where a rival is the better buy the page says so.
Left out: Holafly, Saily and Ubigi. They sell Spain too and are priced on the same day in the full comparison at /blog/best-esim-for-spain. This page answers one question, Airalo or Nomad, so it keeps to those two and the cheaper third option. Left out: Maya Mobile. It lists only a Global plan for Spain and its own site refused the fetch on the day, so it stays out rather than being guessed.
