1 · The short answer

The Monaco Grand Prix runs from 4 to 6 June 2027 on the streets of Monte Carlo. Almost everyone arrives through Nice Côte d'Azur Airport and stays somewhere on the French Riviera, then rides the coastal train or walks into the Principality for the sessions.

Be clear on one thing: Monaco is its own country with its own mobile network, and Ringo Light does not list Monaco as a covered country. Ringo Light's France plan covers Nice, Menton, Beausoleil, Cap d'Ail and the rest of France, where most race visitors sleep and spend their evenings. Inside the Principality, treat your phone as offline: save your e-tickets, the circuit map and your train times before you cross the border, and use the venue or hotel Wi-Fi if you need it.

Ringo Light's France plan covers the whole of France: unlimited data at full speed, 2 weeks for $14.99 or 30 days for $26.99, nothing renews. The plan is at ringoesim.com/france, and every brand's price for Paris is compared on one day in Best eSIM for Paris.

2 · Getting to the circuit from Nice and the Riviera

Nice Côte d'Azur Airport is the gateway. From Nice, the regional TER trains along the coast stop at Monaco Monte-Carlo station, which sits a short walk from the harbour grandstands. On race weekend the trains run fuller and more often, and the queues to get back to Nice after the Sunday race are long, so many people simply wait an hour in a café.

Driving into Monaco on race weekend is a poor idea: roads close for the circuit and parking is scarce. If you stay in Menton, Beausoleil or Cap d'Ail you can walk in. Check the SNCF regional timetable on your phone the night before, while you still have full French coverage.

3 · Signal in a sold-out harbour

The Circuit de Monaco is packed into a few square kilometres of harbour, hillside and tunnel. With grandstands, terraces, yachts and apartment balconies full, tens of thousands of phones lean on the same handful of cells, and the tunnel section blocks signal outright. Uploads stall first: a video that sends in seconds in Nice can sit in your outbox for an hour.

Since Ringo Light does not cover Monaco itself, plan around it: download the e-ticket and the circuit map, set your messaging app to send photos later, and arrange a meeting point with your group in advance rather than relying on live location. Once you are back on the French side, your plan works as normal.

4 · The F1 app, live timing and e-tickets

  • ✓Official F1 app. Session times, results and news. F1 TV live timing is a paid subscription inside the app; it needs data, so expect it to lag in the stands.
  • ✓Tickets. Grandstand and terrace tickets are sold by the Automobile Club de Monaco and resellers. Save the PDF or wallet pass offline before you leave Nice.
  • ✓Paying. Cards and phone wallets are accepted almost everywhere in Monaco and on the Riviera. Carry a card that works abroad without foreign fees.
  • ✓Transport. The SNCF Connect app holds your train tickets offline once downloaded.

5 · What to do around the race

Thursday and the mornings are the time to see Monaco-Ville on the Rock, with the Prince's Palace and the Oceanographic Museum. In the evenings the Riviera itself is the draw: Nice's old town and Promenade des Anglais, the hill village of Èze, and the beaches between Villefranche and Menton, all on the France plan.
