1 · The short answer

The Azerbaijan Grand Prix runs from 24 to 26 September 2027 on the Baku City Circuit, a street track that runs along the seafront boulevard and squeezes past the walls of the old city. The circuit is in the centre, so you can walk to the gates from most hotels.

Ringo Light's Azerbaijan plan covers Baku and the rest of the country with unlimited data, nothing to renew.

2 · Before you go: the e-visa

Many nationalities need a visa for Azerbaijan, issued online as an e-visa through the official ASAN Visa portal. Apply well ahead, and keep the PDF on your phone and on paper for the border.

Heydar Aliyev International Airport is about half an hour from the centre by taxi or the airport express bus.

3 · Getting to the gates

The circuit closes roads across central Baku for the weekend, so taxis drop you short of where you want to be. Walking and the Baku Metro, with stations such as Icherisheher and Sahil near the track, are the easiest way in.

Check the gate for your grandstand on your ticket before you set off, because road closures make some crossings long walks.

4 · Signal on a street circuit

Baku's networks cover the centre well. Grandstands packed along the seafront and the old city walls still slow uploads at the start and the finish.

Save your e-ticket, the e-visa and the circuit map offline, and agree a meeting point in case your group gets split by the closures.

5 · Apps, tickets and paying

  • ✓Getting around. Bolt is widely used for rides in Baku; the metro takes a rechargeable card.
