2 · Getting to Albert Park

Melbourne Airport at Tullamarine links to the city by the SkyBus. From the centre, trams along St Kilda Road and towards St Kilda stop near the circuit gates, and many fans simply walk from Flinders Street. The promoter lists extra tram services and gate information for race weekend.

There is little parking near the park on race weekend; public transport is the sensible way in.

3 · Signal in a big crowd

Albert Park spreads fans around the lake, but grandstands and fan zones are packed, especially on Saturday and Sunday. Uploads slow first when everyone films the start.

Save your e-ticket and the gate map offline, and agree a meeting point with your group.

5 · What to do around the race

Melbourne's laneways and coffee are the obvious start, St Kilda's pier and beach are next door to the circuit, and the Great Ocean Road with the Twelve Apostles makes a long day trip.
