1 · The short answer
Art Basel lists its Paris fair for 23 to 25 October 2026. It takes place at the Grand Palais, between the Champs-Élysées and the Seine, under the restored glass and iron nave. Around it, Paris holds its busiest art week of the year: a public programme in gardens and monuments, satellite fairs, and new shows at the private foundations.
Ringo Light's France plan covers Paris and the rest of France: unlimited data at full speed, delivered by email, installed with one scan, no app needed. If the week takes you on to London for the end of Frieze season or to Brussels, the Europe plan covers those on the same eSIM.
Dates: Friday 23 to Sunday 25 October 2026, with preview days for invited guests before the public days. Organiser's page

2 · The nave and the galleries
The main gallery sector fills the nave, the huge glass hall at the heart of the Grand Palais, and continues into the balconies and the galleries around it. Emergence, the sector for younger galleries, and the curated sectors are placed within the building. The building has more than one entrance; check your ticket for the door and the time it opens.
The Art Basel app carries the floor plan and exhibitor list. The nave is open and easy to read, but the upper levels and side galleries are where people lose each other; save your meeting points in the app before you go in, and put your ticket or card in your phone wallet.
3 · Signal under a glass roof
Glass and iron let more signal in than a concrete convention hall, and central Paris is densely covered. The crowd is the issue: on preview days the nave is full, and thousands of phones on the same cells slow uploads first. Messages go through; long videos and large image batches wait.
Send files from the balconies or step outside onto the avenue between appointments. Paris also has an unusually spread out art week, with openings across the Right and Left Banks in the same evening, so the time you will rely most on data is between venues: maps, metro times and ride-hail.
4 · The public programme, satellites and foundations
- ✓Public programme. Art Basel places sculpture and installations in public sites in Paris during the fair, including gardens and squares, free to see.
- ✓Satellite fairs. Several smaller fairs run the same week, from emerging galleries to Asian art; check each fair's own site for venues.
- ✓Fondation Louis Vuitton. Frank Gehry's glass building in the Bois de Boulogne, with major exhibitions.
- ✓Bourse de Commerce. The Pinault Collection in the former commodities exchange, transformed by Tadao Ando, near Les Halles.
- ✓Palais de Tokyo. The large contemporary art centre on the avenue du Président Wilson, open late. Note that the Centre Pompidou is closed for renovation.
5 · Getting there and getting around
Paris Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports both link to the city by train and bus; trains from London, Brussels and the rest of France arrive at the Gare du Nord, Gare de Lyon and Gare Montparnasse. For the Grand Palais, Champs-Élysées Clemenceau metro station on lines 1 and 13 is closest, with Franklin D. Roosevelt a few minutes away.
The metro is the fastest way between the fair, the foundations and the galleries of the Marais and Saint-Germain. Keep the RATP or Bonjour RATP app for routes and tickets, and allow time in the evenings, when taxis and ride-hail cars are in demand all over the centre.
6 · Around Art Basel Paris
The week runs across the city. These are the institutions most visitors fit in around the fair.
