1 · The short answer
Every travel eSIM sells Reykjavik as part of its Iceland plan. We priced the six that get most of the traffic on the same day, for a long weekend in the city, a week with the Golden Circle and two weeks on the ring road, and looked at what your phone has to do between Keflavik, the capital and the roads beyond it.
2 weeks of unlimited data at $16.99, less than any rival here charges for 7 days. 30 days at $32.99. Nothing renews.
3 days of unlimited at $11, 2 GB a day at full speed. Airalo matches it at $11. Ringo Light sells no 3-day plan.
10 GB for 30 days at $12, $4.99 under our 2 weeks.
Days, not gigabytes, on Nova and Syn, installed from a QR code. $27.50 for a week.
Prices read on 12 October 2026: Airalo, Holafly, Saily, Nomad, Ubigi on their own sites or listings, Ringo Light from its catalogue. All in US dollars unless stated. Treat every number as a snapshot.

2 · The prices, charted
US dollars, 12 October 2026. Airalo's bar is Nenna Mobile, its Iceland plan. Ubigi sells no Iceland plan over 7 days, so its bar is Europe Extended, 30 GB at full speed, then 2 Mbps. Nomad stops at 10 days.
The 30-day plan at each brand. Nomad and Ubigi list no 30-day unlimited plan for Iceland.
Holafly sells no buckets. Ringo Light sells no bucket either: its 2 weeks is unlimited and lasts 2 weeks, not 30 days.

4 · What to do in and around Reykjavik, and what your phone does for you there
Seven places for a first visit, in the city and on the Golden Circle. The city and the main roads have good 4G and 5G.
5 · Getting online at Keflavik
Keflavik International Airport is about 45 minutes from Reykjavik and has 4G and 5G throughout. Switch your eSIM on when you land. The Flybus and other airport buses run to the BSI terminal in the city, and most rental cars are collected at or near the airport.
The Blue Lagoon sits between the airport and the city, and many visitors stop there on arrival or departure day; entry is by timed booking online.
6 · Signal on the Golden Circle and the ring road
Iceland's networks cover the towns, the ring road and the Golden Circle well. Between them, in the highlands, the fjords and some valleys, the signal can drop for long stretches. Download offline maps before every drive, and save the road conditions site and the weather service on your phone.
Road and weather conditions change fast, especially from October to April. The official road site and the 112 Iceland app are the two pages to check before you set out, and data keeps them current on the way.
7 · Northern lights and your phone
From September to April, aurora forecasts and cloud cover maps tell you when and where to look, and a data plan keeps them updating while you drive away from the city lights. Phones photograph the aurora well with night mode on a steady surface.
Cold drains batteries fast. Keep your phone in an inside pocket and carry a power bank on night drives.
8 · Which plan fits a Reykjavik trip
A long weekend: Airalo and Nomad both sell 3 days of unlimited at $11. Ringo Light sells no 3-day plan, so for two or three nights one of those is the better buy.
A week: A week of unlimited costs $19 at Ubigi (20 GB, then 2 Mbps), $25 at Nomad, $26.50 at Airalo and $27.50 at Holafly. Ringo Light sells no 7-day plan, but its 2 weeks of unlimited data costs $16.99, less than any of those weeks. You simply have days left over.
Two weeks or a month: Ringo Light 2 weeks at $16.99 or 30 days at $32.99. Both cover all of Iceland, Reykjavik included, with nothing to change when you leave the city.
9 · What Ringo Light is
Ringo Light is our own data eSIM, sold to fund the full Ringo, one plan that works everywhere with your own number ported onto it. For Iceland, Reykjavik included, it sells two trips, both unlimited data: 2 weeks at $16.99 and 30 days at $32.99. Nothing renews. Fair use policy, see Terms. The eSIM arrives by email and installs in one scan, no app.
If a fixed amount of data is enough, Ubigi sells 10 GB for 30 days at $12, $4.99 under our 2 weeks. Nomad sells 10 GB at $16, 99 cents under our 2 weeks of unlimited, and Airalo and Saily cost more. Ringo Light sells no buckets. The card to buy it is further up this page, just after the side-by-side table.

12 · How we compared, and our sources
We priced Airalo, Holafly, Saily, Nomad, Ubigi and Ringo Light for Reykjavik on 12 October 2026, all on the same day, in US dollars. Each rival's price comes from its own website where it showed dollars, otherwise from an esimdb.com listing, and every source and its date is listed below. Ringo Light's prices come from the catalogue our checkout charges.
We compare the trips people actually book: a week, two weeks and a month of unlimited data, and a 10 GB bucket. We read each brand's fair use and speed rules and quote them as the brands state them. We did not run speed tests, so this page makes no speed claims for any brand.
Ringo Light is our own product. We put it in the table on the same terms as everyone else, and where a rival is the better buy the page says so.
Left out: Maya Mobile. We could not read its own prices for this country on the day, so it stays out rather than being guessed.
