1 · The short answer

Roskilde Festival usually runs for eight days from the last Saturday of June into early July, on fields just south of the town of Roskilde, about half an hour by train from Copenhagen. The first days are the warm up in the campsite; the main stages open for the second half of the week. Check roskilde-festival.dk for the 2027 dates before you book.

Denmark has strong mobile networks, and they add capacity for the festival, but a crowd of this size in one field still slows data at the big moments. Visitors from outside the EU can skip roaming with a Denmark data eSIM installed at home. Ringo Light covers Denmark with unlimited data at full speed; it arrives by email and installs in one scan.

Ringo Light's Denmark plan covers the whole of Denmark: unlimited data at full speed, 2 weeks for $16.99 or 30 days for $32.99, nothing renews. The plan is at ringoesim.com/denmark, and every brand's price for Denmark is compared on one day in Best eSIM for Denmark.

2 · The crowd and the signal at Roskilde

Roskilde is a city for a week: a huge campsite, a festival area with the orange canopy of the Orange Stage at its heart, and a crowd that mostly stays on site. Data in the campsite is usually fine in the morning. The evening headliner at the Orange Stage is the peak, when uploads stall and video calls drop.

Save your ticket, the site map and your camp location on the phone. Upload the videos in the morning while the campsite sleeps.

3 · Tickets, the app and paying

  • ✓Ticket to wristband. Tickets are exchanged for a wristband at the entrance. Keep the ticket saved in the phone wallet or as a screenshot.
  • ✓The official app. Roskilde Festival's app carries the programme, stage times and maps. Set it up at home on Wi-Fi.
  • ✓Paying. Denmark is close to cashless, and the festival is card and phone based. Check that your card works in Danish kroner without blocking, and keep a second card in a different place.
  • ✓A nonprofit festival. The festival is run by a nonprofit and staffed largely by volunteers; the surplus goes to charitable causes.

4 · Getting there

Copenhagen Airport has direct trains to Copenhagen Central and on towards Roskilde. During the festival, DSB runs extra trains, and a temporary festival station serves the site; Roskilde's own station is a walk or a shuttle bus away from the gates.

The DSB app sells train tickets and shows live times. Rejseplanen covers all Danish public transport in one journey planner.

5 · Camping, charging and meeting points

  • ✓Charging for a week. There are charging options on site, but a week is a long time. Bring a large power bank, or a solar charger if you camp, and keep the phone on low power mode.
  • ✓Meet at a landmark. Pick a fixed point away from the Orange Stage and agree times. Campsite areas are lettered and numbered: write yours down.
  • ✓Share location early. Turn on live location with your camp on the first day.
  • ✓Help points. First aid and information points are on the map. The emergency number in Denmark is 112.

6 · Which plan covers Roskilde Festival

Ringo Light's Denmark plan covers the whole country: Copenhagen, Roskilde and the rest of Denmark. If you continue to Sweden over the Øresund Bridge or on to Germany, a Europe plan covers the borders on one eSIM. Your own SIM stays on for calls and codes.

7 · Around Roskilde and Copenhagen

The festival is half an hour from one of Europe's easiest capitals.
