Airalo vs Holafly in one paragraph
Airalo Eurolink is cheaper than Holafly for Europe at every length, by cents on the short plans and by a few dollars on the fortnight and the month. It also covers more countries, 41 against Holafly's 33, and it is the one of the two to buy if your route runs through Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia or Ukraine. Holafly gives you the simpler product: unlimited days with no stated daily cap, installed from a QR code with no app. Airalo gives you more choice, buckets from 10 GB and 20 GB as well as unlimited, but its unlimited slows to 1 Mbps after 5 GB a day, and you need its app. Pick Airalo for the lower price, the longer country list or a bucket. Pick Holafly if you stream all evening and never want to think about a daily cap. If the trip is two weeks or a month and you want unlimited, neither is the cheapest: Ringo Light sells 2 weeks at $22.99 and 30 days at $35.99 across 33 countries, unlimited data at full speed.
Price: the same trip at each
Priced on 25 October 2026, in US dollars. For 3 days of unlimited, Airalo asks $11.50 and Holafly $11.90. For a week, $27 at Airalo and $27.50 at Holafly. For 15 days, $49 at Airalo and $51.50 at Holafly. For 30 days, $71 at Airalo and $76.50 at Holafly. Airalo wins every row of the two, by under a dollar on the short plans and by a few dollars on the fortnight and the month.
Ringo Light sells two trips for Europe: 2 weeks at $22.99 and 30 days at $35.99. The 2 weeks costs less than half of Airalo's 15 days at $49 or Holafly's at $51.50. The 30 days costs about half of Airalo's $71 and Holafly's $76.50. Ringo Light sells no 3-day or 7-day plan; for 3 days, Airalo at $11.50 is the cheapest of the three. For a week, Ringo Light's 2 weeks at $22.99 still costs less than Airalo's 7 days at $27 or Holafly's at $27.50, with a week of days left over.
For a fixed amount of data, Airalo is the only one of the three that sells it: 10 GB for 30 days at $31, 20 GB at $48. Holafly sells no buckets. Ringo Light sells no buckets either, and its 2 weeks of unlimited at $22.99 costs less than Airalo's 10 GB. If you need the data spread over a full 30 days and 10 GB is enough, Airalo's bucket is the one that lasts the month; Ringo Light's cheaper trip ends after 2 weeks. We would rather you read that here than at checkout.
What unlimited means at each
Airalo's Eurolink unlimited gives 5 GB a day at full speed, then slows to 1 Mbps for the rest of the day. That covers maps, messages and a few hours of video; a long evening of streaming in HD on a hotel wifi that does not work will hit it. Holafly states no daily cap for your own phone and limits hotspot sharing to 1 GB a day, so Holafly is the one to pick between the two if you share data to a laptop every day, but only up to that 1 GB. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed for the whole 2 weeks or 30 days. Fair use policy, see Terms.
Which countries each plan covers
A Europe plan is only as good as its country list, and the lists differ. Airalo's Eurolink covers 41 countries, and it is the one to buy if your route runs through Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia or Ukraine. Holafly lists 33 countries including the UK and Ireland. Ringo Light covers 33 countries: the EU countries plus the UK, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Gibraltar. It does not cover Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia or Ukraine.
Check the list for every country on your route before you buy, whichever brand you pick. The UK and Switzerland are the two that catch people out: neither is in the EU, and a plan sold as EU only can skip them. Ringo Light and Airalo Eurolink include both; for Holafly, read the country list at checkout. On the road, each eSIM joins a local network in whichever country you are in. When you cross a border on Ringo Light, it moves to a local network in the next country on its own.
Installation, app and support
Airalo needs its app: you buy, install and top up inside it, and that is also where its support chat lives. Holafly needs no app; it sends a QR code you scan in your phone's settings, and support is by chat on its site. Ringo Light needs no app either; the eSIM arrives by email in seconds and installs in one scan, and support is by email. Whichever you pick, install it at home before you fly and switch it on for data when you land.
The cheaper third option: Ringo Light
Ringo Light is our own data eSIM, sold to fund the full Ringo, one plan that works everywhere with your own number ported onto it. For Europe it sells two trips across 33 countries, both unlimited data at full speed: 2 weeks at $22.99 and 30 days at $35.99. One payment, nothing renews, no app.
What it does not do: no buckets, no 3-day or 7-day plan, no phone number, data only. Calls go over apps that use data. It covers 33 countries, not Airalo's 41, so for Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia or Ukraine, buy Airalo. For 3 days, Airalo at $11.50 or Holafly at $11.90 is the buy; Ringo Light sells nothing that short. For a week, two weeks or a month of unlimited, Ringo Light at $22.99 or $35.99 is the cheapest of the three.
