Airalo vs Ringo Light in one paragraph
For the trip most people take to Europe, two weeks across three or four countries, Ringo Light is the cheaper eSIM by a wide margin: $22.99 for 2 weeks of unlimited data at full speed against $49 for Airalo Eurolink's 15 days, and $35.99 against $71 for a month. Airalo wins everywhere else. It covers 41 countries to our 33, and it is the one to buy if your route runs through Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia or Ukraine. It sells 3 days of unlimited at $11.50 and a week at $27; Ringo Light sells neither length. It sells buckets, 10 GB for $31 and 20 GB for $48, that last a full 30 days; Ringo Light sells no buckets. Its unlimited gives 5 GB a day at full speed, then 1 Mbps; Ringo Light has no daily cap. Airalo lives in its app, Ringo Light arrives by email. Pick Ringo Light for two weeks or a month of unlimited inside the 33 countries. Pick Airalo for a long weekend, for the Balkans, or for a fixed bucket over a month.
Price: the same trip at each
Priced on 25 October 2026, in US dollars. For about two weeks of unlimited, Airalo Eurolink asks $49 for 15 days and Ringo Light $22.99 for 2 weeks. Airalo's plan runs one day longer and costs more than twice as much. For a month, Airalo asks $71 and Ringo Light $35.99. Those are the two charts above, and Ringo Light wins both.
For a short trip, Airalo wins. It sells 3 days of unlimited at $11.50; Ringo Light sells no 3-day plan for Europe. It sells a week at $27; Ringo Light sells no 7-day plan either. That said, our 2 weeks at $22.99 already costs less than Airalo's 7 days, so for a week you can buy Ringo Light's 2 weeks, pay less, and let the second week go unused.
For a fixed amount of data, Airalo is the only one of the two that sells it: 10 GB for 30 days at $31, 20 GB for 30 days at $48. Ringo Light sells no buckets. The third chart puts Airalo's 10 GB next to our 2 weeks of unlimited, but read the labels: Airalo's bucket lasts 30 days, ours lasts 2 weeks. If your trip is a month of light use and you want one plan for all of it, Airalo's 10 GB at $31 is the honest pick; our 30 days of unlimited at $35.99 costs a few dollars more. We would rather you read that here than at checkout.
What unlimited means at each
Airalo Eurolink's unlimited gives 5 GB a day at full speed, then slows to 1 Mbps for the rest of the day. Five gigabytes is a generous daily allowance: maps, messages, a few hours of video and a video call will fit inside it most days. A long evening of HD streaming on hotel wifi that drops out, or a laptop on your hotspot all day, will hit it. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed for the whole 2 weeks or 30 days, with no daily figure to watch. Fair use policy, see Terms.
Which countries each plan covers
A Europe plan is only as good as its country list, and here Airalo wins. Eurolink covers 41 countries. Ringo Light covers 33: the EU countries plus the UK, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Gibraltar. The countries Airalo covers and Ringo Light does not include Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia and Ukraine. If any of those is on your route, buy Airalo; a Ringo Light eSIM has no data there.
Inside the 33, both plans join a local network in whichever country you are in and move to the next one when you cross a border. The UK and Switzerland are the two that catch people out on EU plans: neither is in the EU, and both Airalo Eurolink and Ringo Light include both. Check the list for every country on your route before you buy, whichever brand you pick.
Installation, app and support
Airalo needs its app: you buy, install and top up inside it, you can read your remaining balance there, and that is also where its support chat lives. Ringo Light needs no app; the eSIM arrives by email in seconds and installs in one scan from your phone's settings, and support is by email. There is no balance to read on Ringo Light because there is no bucket to run down. Whichever you pick, install it at home before you fly and switch it on for data when you land.
What Ringo Light is, and what it is not
Ringo Light is our own data eSIM, sold to fund the full Ringo, one plan that works everywhere with your own number ported onto it. For Europe it sells two trips across 33 countries, both unlimited data at full speed: 2 weeks at $22.99 and 30 days at $35.99. One payment, nothing renews, no app.
What it does not do: no 3-day or 7-day plan, no buckets, no phone number, data only, and no data in the countries Airalo covers that we do not. Calls go over apps that use data. If you want 3 days, buy Airalo at $11.50. If you want 10 GB that lasts a month, buy Airalo at $31. For two weeks or a month of unlimited, Ringo Light is the cheaper of the two.
