Airalo vs Holafly in one paragraph
Airalo is cheaper than Holafly for the UAE at every length both sell, by a dollar on 3 days, by 40 cents on a week and by $1.50 on 15 days, and Airalo is the only one of the two that sells a month, at $72. Holafly gives you the simpler product: unlimited days with no stated daily cap, installed from a QR code, no app required. Airalo gives you more choice, buckets as well as unlimited, on e&, the network most people still call Etisalat, but its unlimited slows to 1 Mbps after 3 GB a day and you need its app. Pick Airalo for the lowest price of the two or for a month. Pick Holafly if you stream all evening and never want to think about a daily cap. If the trip is two weeks and you want unlimited, neither is the cheapest: Ringo Light sells 2 weeks at $39.99, unlimited data at full speed, and 30 days at $71.99, one cent under Airalo.
Price: the same trip at each
Priced on 25 October 2026, in US dollars, from each brand's own site. For 3 days of unlimited, Airalo asks $12.50 and Holafly $13.50. For a week, $27.50 at Airalo and $27.90 at Holafly. For 15 days, $49 at Airalo and $50.50 at Holafly. For 30 days, Airalo asks $72; Holafly's dollar table for the UAE stops at 15 days, so for a month it is not in the race. Airalo wins every row the two share.
Ringo Light sells two trips for the UAE: 2 weeks at $39.99 and 30 days at $71.99. The 2 weeks is $9 under Airalo's 15 days at $49 and $10.50 under Holafly's at $50.50. The 30 days is one cent under Airalo's $72, which is level, not a win worth the name. Ringo Light sells no 3-day and no 7-day plan for the UAE; for a stopover or a week, Airalo at $12.50 and $27.50 is the cheapest of the three, and our 2 weeks at $39.99 costs more than either for a week.
For a fixed amount of data, neither chart has a bar. Holafly sells no buckets. Airalo does, from $4 for 1 GB on its Burj Mobile plan, $20 for 10 GB and $34 for 20 GB, as its esimdb listing of 5 October shows. Ringo Light sells no buckets at all. If a bucket is what you want, Airalo is the one of the three that sells one, and we would rather you read that here than at checkout.
What unlimited means at each
Airalo's unlimited for the UAE, the Burj Mobile plan, gives 3 GB a day at full speed, then slows to 1 Mbps. That is enough for maps, messages and an hour or two of video; a long evening of streaming in HD will hit it. Holafly states no daily cap for your own phone and limits hotspot sharing to 1 GB a day, so Holafly is the one to pick between the two if you share data to a laptop every day, but only up to that 1 GB. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed for the whole 2 weeks or 30 days. Fair use policy, see Terms.
Networks and coverage in the UAE
The UAE has two networks: e&, which most people still call Etisalat, and du. Both have 5G across Dubai and Abu Dhabi and cover the highways between the emirates well. Airalo names e&. Holafly does not name its network for the UAE. Ringo Light rides a local partner network. For the cities, any of the three works. Out in the Liwa dunes and in the Hajar Mountain wadis, signal thins out on both networks, so download offline maps before those drives.
Installation, app and support
Airalo needs its app: you buy, install and top up inside it, and that is also where its support chat lives. Holafly's app is optional; it sends a QR code you scan in your phone's settings, and support is by chat on its site. Ringo Light needs no app either; the eSIM arrives by email in seconds and installs in one scan, and support is by email. Whichever you pick, install it at home before you fly and switch it on for data when you land at Dubai or Abu Dhabi.
One thing to know about calls. Every plan on this page is data only, with no UAE phone number, so your calls go through apps. The UAE restricts internet voice and video calls to apps its telecoms regulator allows. WhatsApp messages, photos and voice notes go through, but WhatsApp voice and video calls are restricted, and other calling apps can be too. Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet and Botim place calls normally. Some travel eSIMs route your data through another country, and travellers report that WhatsApp calls then work. No brand on this page promises that, and neither do we.
The cheaper third option: Ringo Light
Ringo Light is our own data eSIM, sold to fund the full Ringo, one plan that works everywhere with your own number ported onto it. For the UAE it sells two trips, both unlimited data at full speed: 2 weeks at $39.99 and 30 days at $71.99. One payment, nothing renews, no app.
What it does not do: no buckets, no 3-day plan, no 7-day plan, no phone number, data only. Calls go over apps that use data, and in the UAE that means an app the regulator allows. If you want a stopover or a week, Airalo at $12.50 or $27.50 is the better buy. For two weeks of unlimited, Ringo Light is the cheapest of the three by $9 or more. For a month it is one cent under Airalo, and Holafly sells no month.

We priced Airalo, Holafly and Ringo Light for UAE on 25 October 2026, all on the same day, in US dollars. Each rival's price comes from its own website where it showed dollars, otherwise from an esimdb.com listing, and every source and its date is listed below. We compare the trips people actually book: a week, two weeks and a month of unlimited data, and a 10 GB bucket. We read each brand's fair use and speed rules and quote them as the brands state them. We did not run speed tests, so this page makes no speed claims for any brand.
Ringo Light is our own product. We put it in the table on the same terms as everyone else, and where a rival is the better buy the page says so.
Left out: Saily, Nomad and Ubigi. They sell the UAE too and are priced on the same day in the full comparison at /blog/best-esim-for-uae. This page answers one question, Airalo or Holafly, so it keeps to those two and the cheaper third option. Left out: Maya Mobile. We could not read its own prices for this country on the day, so it stays out rather than being guessed.
- Airalo: www.airalo.com/united-arab-emirates-esim?currency=USD, Burj Mobile unlimited read on the site in dollars, 25 October 2026; network e& from the same page; 10 GB ($20) and 20 GB ($34) buckets from the esimdb.com/uae/airalo listing dated 5 October 2026
