Airalo vs Holafly in one paragraph
Airalo is cheaper than Holafly for Oman at every length, by $4 on 3 days, $15 on a week, $43.50 on 15 days and $35.50 on the month. Holafly gives you the simpler product: unlimited days from 1 to 30 with no stated daily cap, installed from a QR code, on Omantel. Airalo gives you more choice, 1 GB for 3 days at $4, 10 GB and 20 GB buckets as well as unlimited, on Omantel too, but its unlimited slows to 1 Mbps after 3 GB a day, and you need its app. Pick Airalo if you want a bucket or the lower price of the two. Pick Holafly if you stream all evening and never want to think about a daily cap. If the trip is two weeks or a month and you want unlimited, neither is the cheapest: Ringo Light sells 2 weeks at $20.99 and 30 days at $37.99, unlimited data at full speed.
Price: the same trip at each
Priced on 25 October 2026, in US dollars, from each brand's own site. For 3 days of unlimited, Airalo asks $20.50 and Holafly $24.50. For a week, $36.50 at Airalo and $51.50 at Holafly. For 15 days, $49 at Airalo and $92.50 at Holafly. For 30 days, $99 at Airalo and $134.50 at Holafly. Airalo wins every row of the two, and the gap grows with the length: Holafly costs almost twice as much for 15 days.
Ringo Light sells two trips for Oman: 2 weeks at $20.99 and 30 days at $37.99. The 2 weeks costs less than half of Airalo's 15 days at $49, and less than a quarter of Holafly's at $92.50. The 30 days costs less than Airalo's $99 and Holafly's $134.50. Ringo Light sells no 3-day plan: for 3 days, Airalo at $20.50 is the cheapest of the three, and our 2 weeks at $20.99 costs 49 cents more, with eleven days left over. For a week, our 2 weeks at $20.99 is cheaper than Airalo's 7 days at $36.50 and Holafly's at $51.50.
For a fixed amount of data, Airalo is the only one of the three that sells it: 1 GB for 3 days at $4, 10 GB for 30 days at $24, 20 GB at $38. Holafly sells no buckets. Ringo Light sells no buckets either. For a day in Muscat between flights, Airalo's $4 plan is far cheaper than anything we sell, and for 10 GB that has to last a month, Airalo at $24 is the better buy. We would rather you read that here than at checkout.
What unlimited means at each
Airalo's unlimited for Oman, the Omancom plan, gives 3 GB a day at full speed, then slows to 1 Mbps. That is enough for maps, messages and an hour or two of video; a long evening of streaming in HD will hit it. Holafly states no daily cap for your own phone and limits hotspot sharing to 1 GB a day, so Holafly is the one to pick between the two if you share data to a laptop every day, but only up to that 1 GB. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed for the whole 2 weeks or 30 days. Fair use policy, see Terms.
Networks and coverage in Oman
Oman has three networks: Omantel, Ooredoo and Vodafone Oman, the newest. Airalo and Holafly both name Omantel, the largest. Ringo Light rides a local partner network. In Muscat, Nizwa, Sur and Salalah and along the main highways, 4G and 5G are strong on all of them. Signal gets weak or disappears in the places many trips are built around: deep in the Wahiba Sands, on the high tracks of the Hajar mountains, in the fjords of Musandam and on the long desert roads south towards Salalah. Holafly says so on its own Oman page, and it is true of every network. Download offline maps before you leave the city, and save your desert camp's location as a pin.
Every plan on this page is data only, with no Omani phone number. Oman restricts internet voice calls to licensed services, and travellers report that WhatsApp and FaceTime calls often fail to connect. Messages, photos and voice notes go through. No brand on this page promises that internet calls will work in Oman, and neither do we.
Installation, app and support
Airalo needs its app: you buy, install and top up inside it, and that is also where its support chat lives. Holafly's app is optional; it sends a QR code you scan in your phone's settings, and support is by chat on its site. Ringo Light needs no app; the eSIM arrives by email in seconds and installs in one scan, and support is by email. Whichever you pick, install it at home before you fly and switch it on for data when you land at Muscat.
The cheaper third option: Ringo Light
Ringo Light is our own data eSIM, sold to fund the full Ringo, one plan that works everywhere with your own number ported onto it. For Oman it sells two trips, both unlimited data at full speed: 2 weeks at $20.99 and 30 days at $37.99. One payment, nothing renews, no app.
What it does not do: no buckets, no 3-day or 7-day plan, no phone number, data only. Calls go over apps that use data. If you want a day in Muscat on 1 GB, Airalo at $4 is the better buy. If you want 10 GB for a month, Airalo at $24 is too. For 3 days, Airalo at $20.50 beats our 2 weeks by 49 cents. For a week, two weeks or a month of unlimited, Ringo Light is the cheapest of the three.

We compare the trips people actually book: a week, two weeks and a month of unlimited data, and a 10 GB bucket. We read each brand's fair use and speed rules and quote them as the brands state them. We did not run speed tests, so this page makes no speed claims for any brand.
Ringo Light is our own product. We put it in the table on the same terms as everyone else, and where a rival is the better buy the page says so.
Left out: Saily, Nomad and Ubigi. They sell Oman too and are priced on the same day in the full comparison at /blog/best-esim-for-oman. This page answers one question, Airalo or Holafly, so it keeps to those two and the cheaper third option. Left out: Maya Mobile. We could not read its own prices for this country on the day, so it stays out rather than being guessed.
