The short answer
Airalo is the travel eSIM most people already know for Germany. Ringo Light is ours. Priced on the same day, Airalo asks $42 for 15 days of unlimited and $59 for 30; Ringo Light asks $14.99 for 2 weeks and $26.99 for 30 days, unlimited data at full speed. Unlimited data at full speed for 3 days at $8.99, 2 weeks at $14.99 or 30 days at $26.99, nothing renews, no app. Airalo asks $11, $42 and $59 for 3, 15 and 30 days.

The 30-day plan at each brand. Airalo slows to 1 Mbps after 3 GB a day. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed.
Ringo Light sells no bucket: its 2 weeks is unlimited and lasts 2 weeks, not 30 days. If the 10 GB has to stretch over a whole month, Airalo's bucket is the one that does it.

Airalo vs Ringo Light in one paragraph
For unlimited data, Ringo Light is cheaper than Airalo for Germany at every length it sells: $8.99 against $11 for 3 days, $14.99 for 2 weeks against $42 for 15 days, $26.99 against $59 for 30 days. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed; Airalo's unlimited slows to 1 Mbps after 3 GB a day. Airalo wins where Ringo Light has nothing to sell: a 7-day plan at $24, and buckets, 10 GB for 30 days at $16, 20 GB at $23, from $4 for 1 GB. Airalo names its network, O2 and one other; Ringo Light rides a local partner network and does not name it. Airalo sells on the web or in its app, with a balance you can read; Ringo Light sends the eSIM by email, no app. Pick Airalo for a week, for a small bucket that must last a month, or if the named network matters to you. Pick Ringo Light for 3 days, two weeks or a month of unlimited.
Price: the same trip at each
Priced on 25 October 2026, in US dollars, from Airalo's own site and our own catalogue. For 3 days of unlimited, Airalo asks $11 and Ringo Light $8.99. For about two weeks, Airalo asks $42 for 15 days and Ringo Light $14.99 for 2 weeks, so Airalo costs $27.01 more for one extra day. For 30 days, Airalo asks $59 and Ringo Light $26.99.
The week is Airalo's. It sells 7 days of unlimited at $24; Ringo Light sells no 7-day plan. Our 2 weeks at $14.99 still costs $9.01 less than Airalo's week, with a week of days left over, but if you want to pay for exactly seven days, Airalo is the one that sells them.
The buckets are Airalo's too. Its Hallo! Mobil plan sells 10 GB for 30 days at $16, 20 GB at $23, and buckets from $4 for 1 GB. Ringo Light sells no buckets. In the 10 GB chart, Ringo Light's 2 weeks at $14.99 sits $1.01 under Airalo's $16, but the two are not the same thing: Airalo's 10 GB lasts 30 days, ours lasts 2 weeks. For 20 GB over a month, Airalo at $23 is cheaper than our 30 days at $26.99. If a small bucket that lasts a month is what you need, Airalo is the better buy, and we would rather you read that here than at checkout.
What unlimited means at each
Airalo's unlimited for Germany, the Hallo! Mobil plan, gives 3 GB a day at full speed, then slows to 1 Mbps. That is enough for maps, messages and an hour or two of video; an evening of HD streaming or a laptop on the hotspot will hit it. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed for the whole 2 weeks or 30 days, with no daily figure. Fair use policy, see Terms.
Networks and coverage in Germany
Germany has three big networks: Telekom, Vodafone and O2, with 1&1 building a fourth. All three cover Berlin, Munich, Hamburg and Cologne well. Telekom reaches furthest into the countryside; O2 is thinnest outside the cities. Coverage on trains is patchy on every network in cuttings and forests, which is why the ICE has its own Wi-Fi. Airalo names O2 and one other network. Ringo Light rides a local partner network and does not name it on the page, which is a point to Airalo if you want to know the network before you pay. Neither names Telekom. If your trip is cities and rail, either works.
Installation, app and support
Airalo sells on its website or in its app, and the app is where you read your balance, top up and reach its support chat. Ringo Light needs no app: the eSIM arrives by email in seconds, installs in one scan, and support is by email. If you like to see a balance tick down in an app, that is Airalo; with Ringo Light there is no balance to watch, the trip just runs until it ends. Whichever you pick, install it at home before you fly and switch it on for data when you land in Frankfurt, Munich or Berlin.
What Ringo Light is, and what it is not
Ringo Light is our own data eSIM, sold to fund the full Ringo, one plan that works everywhere with your own number ported onto it. For Germany it sells three trips, all unlimited data at full speed: 3 days at $8.99, 2 weeks at $14.99 and 30 days at $26.99. One payment, nothing renews, no app.
What it does not do: no buckets, no 7-day plan, no phone number, data only. Calls go over apps that use data. If you want 20 GB for a month, Airalo at $23 is the better buy. If you want exactly a week, Airalo at $24 sells it and we do not. For 3 days, two weeks or a month of unlimited, Ringo Light is the cheaper of the two.
